bristlenosejohn Posted December 19, 2011 Report Share Posted December 19, 2011 Gday all, Well I would like to let you all know a few plans for the new year that will be of benifit for all members (new or old), We will be running competitions for each section and they will be for the following Best THREAD Best Picture of a fish for each section Best kept Tank Best Post We are also working out plans for a regular swap meet and family day these will be at alternate areas in QLD and then one for each state as the states come aboard. We are still working out times and locations but keep a eye out as these will be great days to meet up with other members and maybe grab a bargain (and FREE). bristlenosejohn Posted December 20, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 20, 2011 Gday all, I would just like to clarify a few things regarding why I am able to offer such things as competitions and regular events for forum members and why Grum didnt / couldnt. The fact is that on many ocasions Grum and I have discussed having competitions and the main reason why this never eventuated was due the fact that to ask a sponsor to donate something to a comp was to ask them to take it from the own pocket. This was due to the fact the forum was run as a NON for profit where as I have bought the forum to run as a buisness and this means that Advertisisers (sponsors) can now claim on all the put into the forum as these can be tax deductable/ right off for them so it will be easier for them to continue to sponsor a event/ comp. There will be a few more changes on the forum in the future and these will be to keep the forum free for all users and to give you more options on this great site.
