timothy2
if she has only been in the shell for 2 days then you still have a couple of days to sought everything out. firsty, setup a new tank with a sponge filter which should normally have been used in the tank with the adults so it alreay has all the bacteria. i like to use no substrate in my fry tanks especially alto fry tanks because there so small and can get stuck easily and so you can suck up all food easily. i would suggest to remove the female from the tank after one week from when she has spawned because it gives you a chance to try and lure the female away from the shell with food and just take the shell out. make sure when you move the shell that you adjust temp and make sure you use water to fill the fry tank with from the main tank. i clean my tanks every 2 days and i take out about 30% but i take out and add water through air line tubing because its slower and easier to avoid sucking up fry. i would get some baby brine shrimp or rotifers to feed the fry which will appear in the first 7-14 days depending on the type of shell and how deep the fry are in the shell. this is what works for me personally. let me know if you have any other questions
