soumimjp
Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good tank mates for some cherries? I've heard endlers do fine, and bristlenose of course. But anyone have any others that seem to go ok and wont eat all the cherries? Would be great to hear what people have with them, (preferably fish that wont eat live plants)
Timmy
I have endler, b/n, neons and rummy nose in my 3ft. If you keep the tetras well feed and the shrimp have plants and moss to live in you should be fine.
Baccus
I have corydoras with my shrimp and the shrimp population keeps growing, my fighters eat the odd shrimplet but tend to leave adults alone, my black neon's seem fine with cherry shrimp same with Khuli loaches. Even my Pakastani loaches seem to not eat the shrimp, but that may change once they run out of snails to eat. I have caught my sparkling gouramis eating and trying to eat the shrimp, but the guppies seem to leave adult shrimp alone. Empire gudeons can not be trusted at all with shrimp. Andycumbo
I have a 4ft nano tank set up with cherries, crystals, threadfin rainbows and bumblebee gobbies and all populations are breeding and all fry and shrimplets are surviving. Plenty of plants and moss seems to be the answer.
soumimjp
Thanks guys good to know about all the different potential mixes. I am planning to do a planted tank, at the moment my 2 footer is full of cherries. Now I've just got to figure out what plants, I am getting some endlers later, not sure what else yet. soumimjp
Just another question, how are fighter fish with the shrimp? I'm assuming theyd eat up the cherries if they got a chance, would they attack other fish? Are males or females any different from each other? Would love to hear some more people put their two cents in.
