Hi guys. Hoping for some help.

I have a 7" roughly 5 year old spiny eel that has all of a sudden not able to move his body past his 'neck'. He can bend his head all the way around to touch his body, but the rest of the body is not working.

He is also having issues staying right way up too.

He was eating, but not now. (Was always hand fed).

Do you think maybe he has had a fright, ran into something, and broke his neck? Or is there some other issue?

He is in a 5ft tank all to himself apart from a couple of Cuckoo's.

I actually removed a lot of the fish a couple weeks back and put them in the big tank (loaches, upside down catfish) and I want to shut this tank down. I got rid of all the BN's too.

Ammonia - 0

Nitrite - 0.1

Nitrate - 3

The weird thing is that the PH test just goes bright yellow some where far below the 6 mark. Not sure how that even happened?

PH kit is working as the other tanks test up fine.

Yeah, this one got out once and was on the floor for about 5 hours. Went to pick him up and put him in the garden when he moved! Put him back in the tank. He was stiff as anything for a day and peeled off a whole layer of skin/coat but has been fine ever since!
