Ideas for iwagumi scape?

Recommended Posts

I've been flooded in today, so not a tonne to do, after waterchanging all my tanks, I decided to bring up some of my rocks and take some pics. I want to do a scape with these rocks, and am looking for inspiration. Don't see a tonne of scapes with rounder rocks, but I do think its possible, and they have lots of character even if they aren't typical iwagumi shapes. I was wondering what you all think, especially as to which rock would be the best dominant rock. I like the large one that I have propped up in the left hand side. What do you think?

Also any scapes that you think could serve as inspiration for a scape with these? They will be going in a 30"x18x12 rimmless braceless and supportless tank.

Iwugami is simply the art of a stone garden as I understand it. I have seen it done with rounded stones before. Gets away from that windswept plain and cliif sort of look. Possibly a bit more like Ayers Rock.

I think the use of the rock second from the right is going to be crucial as it gives height and an interesting more blocky form. My eye is drawn to it.
