tangles Posted January 25, 2012 Report Share Posted January 25, 2012 I got a light with metal halides but it was set up for marine thus having bulbs that are 14000 and 20000 kelvin.As i understand 6500 to 8000 is a good kelvin for planted tanks. My question is i can get 6500 k bulbs from ideal electrical at a quarter of the price than ones sold in aquarium shop.Would these bulbs be any different than the 6500 k bulbs you get in an aquarium shop.
