corny-ratbag
Hi all, Today I picked up my skimmer for the tank I am converting to marine. Unfortunately with the 6mm foam under the sump we can not get the cup out because of the height of the cabinet. We have worked out if we don't have the foam under it we are about to get the cup out with a mm or 2 to spare. I was just wondering if anyone has successfully used a material that is only 1mm or so think and where you got it from. Thanks, Regards, Ryan
aquaaddict
ok, just be really sure your tank/stand are very true and flat before going to extremes on your foam barrier, that aside prob your best bet is somewhere like clarke rubber, they have some great stuff like nonslip matting or tent underlay matting that would be that thin. otherwise in a normal situation you have your normal poly foam but i always found that deteriated easy, one of the best was those cheap sleeping mats you buy for camping, esp the black ones as they become non obstrusive. corny-ratbag
We ended up using the workers mat. Nice and thin but just enough padding in it to help out
