bigeronuc
Hi All, Recently I've seen Tropheus duboisi Golden Firefox in a few LFS's and a number of mates have added them to their aquariums. They are a stunning variant but I can not find any info on their collection point etc. Are they a wild variant or captive bred? Any info would be appreciated as the info I and my mates have been given has varied from shop to shop. Regards, Jade
gingerbeer
I do not beleive they are a wild variation. Certainly tank made.

But does it matter!!! these fish have an awesome personality and all swarm to the top of the tank all the time. Colours range from bright orange through to dark orange and white. I must say when i go there i love to look at them, more than he's other tropheus . It doesn't matter where they come from as long as you like them. They are still tropheus! Unless youvé seen my dads coloney 10-14cmx 35adults.I wouldn't say never. jas

odins fish
would have to say buy em if u like em i wouldnt how ever call them a tropheus !! do u call flower horns midas or trimac ?? NO they are a flowerhorn (hybred) ! and as far as breeding goes well u never get the same fish twice if its been hybred my advise is buy some real tropheus if u want T,s as hybreds usually have **** gene pool and will experience more problems ps . Kasanga are B.E.A utifull <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

a-f-a
think this tread should be moved to the hybrid section ???? no hybrid is a good hybrid
grigby
Jade They are also known as Red Phoenix aka Caramba Bishop. An inline bred of a Tropheus Caramba morph by Mireille Schreyen's Fishes of Burundi. I have 28 sub adults in an 8ft tank and love them. They are line bred, not hybrid! A hell of a lot of fish in the industry are line bred: should all these go as well. Caramba Bishop breed true to colour. A fish shop in Melbourne is selling imports, as Caramba Bishops, for over $120 each. I would have Yellow Kiriza trophs as well if I could afford them, however I think Tropheus brichardi Kipili (albino) looks very plain. Look forward to other responses regarding the breeding of albino fish, or any line bred fish for that matter. A great number of people are breeding NO NO's!!!
