goldenswimmers
heaven and hell..... A pic of the spawns i have coming up next after the few(3) spawns Im currently still grooming.. and I also have a nice ryukin spawn coming through now too...plus about 2 other spawns laid whilst dealing with these...damn...normally I would seperate the spawns so I can deal with each bloodline but just not enough room so I have now started mixing spawns to space optimize....heaven to have so many to work with...(if I cant get some nice fish out of all these then I might as well get into collecting garden snails)....hell to inspect and cull...might get an IBC just for feeders....my JDs are loving the 5 star meals though yum cha

goldenswimmers
Cheers..yeah i normally wouldnt take a pic of fry like this but there is ALOT in there...its 30cm deep and they are in the middle..on the bottom...alot of little dudes in there....these guys lay a bit to begin with(if the females a good breeder)..but I make sure to add some diluted down anti-fungal to the eggs(with water from the tank or pond they are laid in)...nature will do the rest until hatching time...then the hardest part is feeding so many little suckers and water changes....I really hammer the feeding as I know all those little mouths...some of them are hogging...some would say I overfeed but I do big water changes to balance it out and keeping oxygen in the water is crucial....so many little ones..so much waste....and then the hardest part is getting the room...these guys will need some room to grow out and thats going to be a nightmare(not to mention the culling..inspecting these guys is something im dreading but the outcomes worthwhile)....If I dont give them space I wont get the good size and headgrowth these guys need to have a shot at being a great ranchu... goldenswimmers
At the moment a bit of a mix....some new life spectrum fry starter, baby bribe shrimp and the juice from frozen blood worms(I figure if they put vitamins in the blood worm then the juice when it defrosts will probably have traces of vitamins in it)..I even use the water from my pre-soaked and mashed hikari lionhead (which I use for my baby ranchus that are about 6-7cms)...so yeah a bit of mix but they seem to be thriving on it... goldenswimmers
ha ha..yeah its a bit nuts...I go through food at a nuts rate...also because there are different levels of guys..these guys obviously hammer the brine and the fry starter...plus I have ryukin fry doing the same thing...and then when they are a bit bigger...the bloodworms getting hammered...crazy stuff...but the big beautiful fish at the end are worth it
