Pet_City Posted February 4, 2012 Report Share Posted February 4, 2012 Had to answer since I'm considered old school - Love em when setting up tanks for displays and trade shows where I need the water clear yesterday - IMO it works faster than purigen. However diatom powder can be hard to find - and you must be masked when using it, its not good to have choking up the lungs. I would think though that in a home system, with the awesomeness of today's easy to use and easy to recharge resins, its a bit obsolete.
