The Tech Den
Was just jokin buddy. I know how hard it is to count the little buggers when they keep movin. Mind you when I do need to do a count I normally do a picture then put it up on the computer and start counting....Good going all the same. tubbi
Nice work Trev and for sure it looks way more over 200 of the suckers, just make sure when they grow a bit bigger is to separate the bigger ones to the smaller ones, otherwise as you know the bigger ones will eat the smaller ones. clipper
Looking good. Though with that many in one batch i don't see the price holding for much longer. There would be at least 300 plus there.

Yeah not real sure on price seems to be holding of late there getting a bit cheaper but will see when time comes to move them , I know it's a big spawn but I reckon I will lose a fair few over the next few weeks but who knows. Either way not going to breed them again for a while unless I can move them in bulk lots maybe look into shipping some interstate if theres intrest will just have too many to handle if they go again. All a big learning curve One I'm enjoying:)

They hold their price 'cause they're extremely slow growers.....................it's one thing to get 'em to breed, it's another to get 'em big enough to sell in less than 6 months

JD
Kevin was selling his fish for aound $30ea at 3cm, which I believe is a fair price. You may have some considerable number losses getting them to a sale size however. What are you feeding them?

You may have some considerable number losses getting them to a sale size however. What are you feeding them? ATM there getting feed hatched brine shrimp , but started feeding crushed hakari food sticks and there smashing it ! So was thinking of skipping flake & just feeding them food stick only with shrimp & some blood worm later on , at least this way when sold peeps will have no dramas getting to take a good quality food like food sticks. just adjust how much I crush the sticks as they grow. Price ? Thinking $30 @ 4-5cm really not sure yet as u said wait too see how many I lose over the next month.
