bristlenosejohn
Gday all, Well I thought I would start off this new topic and to start it I would like to share with you all how members do come together and assist each other. Today warwick had to pick up his new 2mtr x 1 mtr x 1mtr tank off one of our new members ed (forgot your username mate) and there was myself and two other forum members Goonibird (rob) and chris (forgot his user name too) and we all moved wawricks new tank up to his house and it was great to see people give up there time just to help another fish lover out. So thanks guys for everything and it is was agreat pleasure to see the free offer of help with no strings attached. great effort. Cheers Johno
tuffy_rana
great work guys and just on that note, maybe a thread where people could post a "need" for a lift or a move etc. yes i know peeps can post a individual thread but i was thinking maybe a sticky of sorts where peeps can ask for a hand or people can nominate themselves as "available to assist" if required eg within 30kms of marsden etc. i have noticed a couple threads with peeps needing a hand but on relative short notice. i would not mind helping out if its not a vast distance to travel, you get an appreciative handshake and cold drink afterwards and its not an entire weekend. just putting it out there

warwick
Gees John, once again you beat me to the punch. The help you guys gave me yesterday was much appreciated. Without your help I'd still be wondering how to move the beast. Once again, John, Goonibird, Chris and Ed, thanks very much.[with many hands to assist, even 2100 litre tanks are light.LOL] BTW, Justin, sorry we missed you. I tried to call you when we arrived at Ed's place but you must have been on the road. All went extremely well. Now I've just got to scape and fill up the monster. Will call you when it's done. you can come out for a sticky if you wish. Cheers Warwick.
warwick
Mmmm, 2100 litres, on tank water? Oh well, there goes the drinking water. Looks as if it will be BEER ONLY for me for atleast the next couple of weeks, until the tank fills up again. OH, the sacrifices we make for this hobby.[ Mmmm, I wonder if I could disconect the down pipe from the tank without the wife knowing??? ]

gollys
This is what I love about this forum the most, is the way local members help each other out ............*I am now feeling all warm & fuzzy* Anyway, a "help required" section would be a great idea. I know I would be willing to help a member out in my area if I could - maybe not with the lifting so much (leave that to the boys) but I am sure there are some things I could help with and you know the saying......many hands make light work. Integrate your tank plumbing into the house plumbing auto water changes when ever someone turns on the tap or flushes the loo... lol
