Posted March 14, 2012 Report Share Posted March 14, 2012 Ok so I have got 2 5/18/18 tanks and a 5/18/18 with 3ft of that being a sump all being made atm , Freshwater , will hold americans What I want to know is: - what is a good 4 or 8 outlet air pump that can run them all - what is best media for 3 chamber sump in order - am I able to put cherry shrimp in the sump and maybe some bn - what is a good sump pump to run the amount of litres I will have - should I get a uv thingo - where can I buy or order a good master test kit Also how long can a fish survive in a Styrofoam box with airstone as I will need to put them somewhere till I fill the tanks This is my first time sump so help will be appreciated Cheers Sean. jacobraven Posted March 14, 2012 Report Share Posted March 14, 2012 i use a resun 6 outlet nice and quiet Age of Aquariums - Resun 6 outlet air pump Media depends on whether its fully submerged 1st - Sponge and fine filter wool 2nd - Noodles / Matrix / BioBalls / Scoria / The list goes on 3rd - Marcopore or Purigen For shrimp n bns you would need a refuguim so the pump doesnt eat them Kenster on heres has energy effiecent pumps you would like 3-5 times turn over of the max volume an hour If your return pipes are large enough UV If there dear fish or money permits its always handy it would go on your return line Age of aquarims sells the API Age of Aquariums - API Freshwater Master Test Kit Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
