DeadFishFloating
Actually the southern ocean where these crabs are coming from produces seafood very low in heavy metals. Hence why there are so many poacher fleets from poluted northern hemisphere nations down there. interestingly the crab fauna is changing with the climate BBC News - Giant crabs make Antarctic leap The giant crabs invading Antarctica - The Week

Yodapwnsasmurf
Claude weighs a mighty 15lbs and measures 15 inches wide and would have produced 20lbs worth of meat Sorry, what?
DeadFishFloating
Sorry, what? yea I thought the same thing, I mean its a pom news story so do we have to work out how much meat a pound buys and then times that by 20 to get its weight. I mean thats how you would find out how much $2 worth of chips weighs so I spose it would work to find out how much £20 worth of crab weighs. seems a bit complicated though why couldnt they just give us the weight of the crab meat and save us all the maths? Yodapwnsasmurf
You're not wrong there DFF, but what I was really trying to figure out was how can the crab weigh less than the amount of meat it can produce, does it have some kind of helium meat that weighs negative lbs? Yodapwnsasmurf
1lb of crab meat costs £200, $254.549 . So, for £20, you should be able to buy .1lb of crab meat. $440 per kg. Most expensive crab meat ever?
