awesome fish mate...that black(on the tail tips...usually see it on finnage..tails etc) should go on the white ranchu too...I find this pops up sometimes if the fish has been changing between a few different water types(you can kind of tell if its part of the colour scheme)...should go once the fish is settled...thats a great fish mate and great headgrowth already too...rare in all white too..and great ryukin prospect...hump already there..can only get better...top stuff mate love ya work :)

I just killed the white ranchu and another :( really bummed at myself... They got anchorworm and I think I overdosed them:( read a way of treating with salt then potassium permanganate but I guess I messed up the dosage..

yeah mate I feel your pain...I've been in a similar situation..experience is somethiing you get just after you needed it....unfortunately being imported these guys can have a chance of carrying some hidden nasties...feel for ya mate....but the experience means you'll be better prepared next time you get yourself a little gem...and that quarantine tank is a definite especially for these guys....next time i reckon you could pull them out yourself(wet cloth and dunking him back in to keep him wet) and use some stress coat then a bit of salt in the tank afterwards to fight any infection...maybe a little diluted anti fungal too...hopefully there isnt a next time... that would be even better :)

sorry to hear you lost the nice white nextime you find ancor worm isolate fish its an internal parasit comes to the outer skin to lay its eggs fish will digest and it starts all over better to isolate and use twzers to remove befor thy relaese ther eggs after a week or so no more apear replace fish cemical only prolong the ancor worm from producing it to breed better to let them come out were you can remove as in white spot cemicals only kill the eggs and not the bug some years ago ther was a lot coming from farms in gypsland vic. but thy have clead up ther prob. see if you can find out were thy came from it would be in Australia (imports are scrend)

There are a few anchor worms shock tories pringing up .... Bad news for anyone involved. I hope you stumble onto some good finds again soon ate. Chin up.

Thanks mick! I have learned some good lessons out of it.. And got some great advice via pm and here how to treat it! Still can't believe I was stupid enough to not do enough research and just dump large amounts of nasty chemicals on a poor unsuspecting fish!

I hold back on chemicals now til definitely needed as I have learnt these can be just as bad as what they are going through and sometimes you "freak out" and start chucking all this stuff in which can shock the fish making them weaker to fight the problem...sometimes I reckon the water they are in is the last "safe haven" when dealing with some of these things...

Your right! Freaking out is exactly what happened! Qldaf was having work done on the forum and I didn't think to call you or Wolfgang ... So the best option was to poison the little bugger :( think ill just keep you two on speed dial :)
