samo
Hey guys, Looking at re-doing my 3ft tomorrow. Any suggestions on how to aquascape an african tank? Cheers, Sam
Guest SFJ
Pretty hard too when Africans eat everything. Try a black sand with some white Texas holey rock. That will keep your ph up. Java fern or anubis would be a goer for plants other wise your sorta limited. The best way to keep your cichlids happy is recreate their natural habitat. Jump on google get some research into ya! Hope this helps! Cheers!

discus_noob
What about coral sand and some rock whether it be molten volcanic rock with lots of character or red opal rock or texas holy rock or yingshi rock, even river rocks can do a good job or slate! Let the imagination run wild

jaspass
Get a background, like PK333's pictures they make the world of difference, if you can't afford one you could make one(although this does take a little while). Just makes the tank as realistic as possible. Good luck Jason

samo
Haha thanks man. Yeah hated the first scape but it as the first time I had ever set up a tank. Much happier with how I looks and functions now. The fish have found/made tunnels between the rock work which is awesome to watch. I agree it Could do with a background though
