Which silicon is safe??

Recommended Posts

that one is for small tanks only check there website out says - For aquariums, allow the product to fully cure for 7 days. Prior to usage, throughly wash out with water, drain and refill before introducing fish. Suitable for constructing and repairing small aquariums. Specialist design required for large tanks. Contact SELLEYS if unsure

Thanks for pointing that out, I actually over looked it as the OP was simply wishing to glue some rocks together.

I am also using this to silicone in the background on my 8 foot tank, and maybe to hold some rock work.

Sellys just says suitible for small aquariums to cover thier own ass. I built a 7x 2 x 2 with it and worked fine. Now I use Dow Corning 480 for tanks under 3 ft tall. Less then half the price and funnily enough says on the label not to be used fully submersed, not to be used for aquariums and not to be used as a structual silocone lol. Biggest ive gone with it is 3 tall 7 long 2.5 wide and it has worked perfect.
