rwhelan
Hi everyone, I have found a worm looking parasite that is attacking the flesh of my cardinals. So far I have soon them on the mouth, body and fins. They look like white thin worms. Photo shows one through a cardinals mouth. I pulled one out of a fishes hill yesterday for a better look. Fish are quarantined. 16 litre quarantine tank Ph 7.2 Temp 30 Recent meds protozoa Just noted nitrites in tank so neutralized them. Was feeding bloodworm but stopped now. now only feeding new life spectrum small fish formula once per day. Not sure what the worm is or how to treat, any hints very appreciated. Am pretty sure they had the worm when I got them from a lfs.
DeadFishFloating
for now, manual removal, if you can do it WITHOUT killing fish, is going to be a viable option. But water will need to be perfect to allow fish to recover without developing secondary infections. for some reason I cannot see your picture if the protozoa med does not kill them, and you cannot make an id I would start going thru the worming meds 1 by one, using water changes and carbon between treatments. Ashlum
Given that planaria is a type of flatworm and no planaria kills them, maybe no planaria will also kill whatever worm u have in your tank.
