4ft tank, filtration?

Recommended Posts

Just ran the math myself and for ideal filtration (8 x water volume) you're going to need 2000l/h so I'd say that if you bought the canister off MRNOS and ran that plus what you already have you'd be in the clear. The bigger the canister you can get the better, I know aqua one do a 1400l/h for roughly $170 and they seem to work a treat.

Thanks for all the opinions and i already have a canister thanks anyway MRNOS, i was just wondering if an internal filter does the same job as my canister is very bulky and takes up alot the space under my tank.

Cheers

Canisters Offer much better biological filtration as well as mechanical. Internals are ok but are much better used as a fine particle filter (ie water polisher) In my 5ft set up I've got a 2000l/h canister two big sponges and an 1800l/h internal filled with matrix and purigen and my water has never been clearer
