Some sump advice please

Recommended Posts

We are in the process of a major fish shed upgrade sooooo once done we only want to run two large sumps (down from 4), one for fry tanks and one for breeders

every sump we have is sorta "old school" with various sponges , scoria and purigen in them

The shed up grade is a no holes bared affair so we want the sumps to be

"the ducks nuts" ,after a little bit of research we have decided to go with two 6x18x18s this is what we have come up with so far .

any advice ?

and NO i dont want a nexus

I asked the question a while ago about where to put the K1.

The answers i got was to put the K1 first then have it over flow into the sponges and other media.

I bought 50 liters on saturday ready for when i get my new sump going.

So the only thing i would do is to change the first 2 around.

=)

My advice Jason, if you want the ducks nuts.... BUY A NEXUS! :P:p

Age of Aquariums - Nexus Eazy Pod Air There ya go Pal.

Serisouly, saw one at a breeders house once & I was super dooper impressed!

Yeah, I have a seen a couple of K1 setups & they all had K1 first up before anything else, but I cannot see why you couldn't do it the way you have planned. Good luck out there ya straw chewers! ;)
