Well wasnt a big one, and I was there for only a little bit......... BUT scored 2 nice big male crabro.

Was strange because I was thinking about getting a black fish or 2 for my tanks. And then along comes 2 crabs.

Least amount of bags I have ever left an auction with.......

strange feeling.

First auction and we are hooked. Haha. Got 10 blue dolphins, a nice male fighter, some new guppy pairs, juvie oscars, demasoni colony and a random red jewel that my hubby decided he needed so our other one would have a friend haha. Was fun though and got the two africans that I really wanted!

Think we only spent $200 which is restraint from us but also the budget for a couple of weeks. Thanks for a great night QFAS and the cichlid group!

I'm on the other coin toss didnt spend one cent apart for a hot dog and drink LOL, I wasn't impressed with the fish selections at this auction it was ok if you wanted guppys and fighter's but apart from that not much at there starting to think it's a sign of things to come (auctions getting smaller due to people getting out of the hobby and perfer to sell on the forums)

Mate a lot of sellers did not come! it's alot of work to spend the morning in the fish room catching and bagging 20-60 bags of fish thin labeling them and sit there for 12h and wait till your fish are sold for $10 for 5 fish and lose 20% to the club for bring your fish .while siting in the crowd and listening to people complane about the fish being are to expensive !

I didn't buy a thing! UGH. Dunno why, I normally buy something, at least a plant. Who knows. Not a lot on offer unless you're a Malawi fan or like fighters. Small auction this time, done and driving hom by 10. Weird!

Rose you my not have bought any thing ! But you can go home and watch one of the coolest fish in your own tank .

Aha! Fair enough. =) I wonder what he thinks of me and my face always up in his space. I should get some more videos uploaded.

I was hoping to find some nice rainbows at the auction but got outbid on the few I went for. Oh well!

Yea they are good sized crabro.

I think people are forgetting this is the mid winter auction.

most breeders scale back breeding through winter and then ramp back up after it

I know I do!

Some nice goldfish on offer tonight

and longfin peppered cories

and CRS are starting to make an appearance.

Yes it was a small one

buuuuuuuuuuuuut did anyone notice the background noise?

I dont think anyone there didnt enjoy catching up with the fish crew

lotta good people crammed into that room.

Always a good sign that the hobby is kicking ass

BRING ON THE SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!

Not just hybrids, peoples left over males, fish the LFS rejected and ****py quality fish that should have been culled when they were barely free swimming.

Aside from the fish, I think the auctioneers could maybe have done a better job.

Having said all that, I can see now that it is definately a sellers market. Next time I might take along all of my unwanted **** and flog it off for more than top dollar :D

like the forum the auction is gunna be opinion based. i didnt buy anything as nothing there (except some bumble bee cats appealed to me and a mate was bidding on em so i didnt) i was interested in. though much quieter in sales and goods on offer then others i have attended i didnt see anything that detracted from a pretty good night and i had the chance to catch up with some good people all under the same roof at the same time ;)

I think if you went just for the fish, it was not as big as some in the past and was a surprise to everyone finishing so early. I had a ball, meet lots of members, some old faces and some new faces and it was surprising just how many were from QLDAF and good having a chat to Ben from AOA and saw Donny but just missed having a chat.

If you came for the people to talk to you were definitely on winner and if you picked up some fish that you liked, better yet.

So thanks to everyone that came over and said hi.

I have to say it was a bit hard to hear the auctioneers and if they didn't get the photos up i had no idea what was up for sale, and not a great deal appealed to me so didn't bring much home.

In saying that i didn't leave until the end and had a great time, had a great chat with John , i thought his table looked great with a great rang of product and heaps of good advise, Great products and an even better price.
