rosequoll Posted July 21, 2012 Report Share Posted July 21, 2012 So, I missed out on getting any blue shrimp at the auction tonight, but consoled myself by going down and digging through my ibc to find any blue 'tinge' shrimps. Found a few (two maybe, three definite blue colour). Get them into a cup, move them upstairs, stage them into another tank... And now they're dark maroon. Okay shrimp, what gives! Little jerks.... With breeding up to TRUE blue shrimp, is this what I'm doomed to start with? Sneaky little mood rings with legs? DFF has told me previously that they do this, but it's insane. I wouldn't say they're even the same shrimp. Keegan013 Posted July 21, 2012 Report Share Posted July 21, 2012 I had some do the same, Maybe it was because it was a bare tank, Unheated and when they got into a dark substrate with plants and warmer water etc now mine have pearly tinges of blue and some are SOLID red.. rosequoll Posted July 21, 2012 Author Report Share Posted July 21, 2012 Funny though, in the IBC there's everything from light cream, brown, deep blood red, orange, bright red and the pale blue.
