pony-tail
My Tanks are 4 @ 48x18x20 My Lights are twin tube 4 foot 54watt T5HO . Filtration is Fluval 305 in all 4 tanks I am looking for tubes suitable to a non CO2 plant tank ( 4 tanks actually)and a place to buy them . At present I am running some Hagen PowerGlo and some Sylvania 10k tubes . Both of these tubes have proved to be unsuccessful for growing plants . So what is everybody else using these days ? I have previously used T5HO GE Triphosphor Daylight 6500k tubes ( x 4 in a 3 ft CO2 planted tank ) but had to order them in - now I can not get them . Any suggestions ? pony-tail
I just checked out the prices on the giessman tubes - for the 8 tubes that I will need , that comes to $500 . That and they are only good for 12 to 18 months - about $10 per week . This IS an expensive addiction !

I can only afford to run 2 x planted tanks and I run them both under the same light.
pony-tail
It is unfortunate that the GE lights are no longer available to me - They cost $18 and according to some of the posts outperform most other lights . Mind you the Hagen tubes cost $38 each and don't work , ( they grow beautiful purple algae but not very good plants ) the Sylvanias were only $22 but they do not work well either . ( 7@2foot +12 @3 foot and 6 @ 4 foot in the shed ) The rest I have mostly sold .
