antg
Just thought I'd get some opinions on the best position to put a canister spray bar. I'm going to install the filter this weekend once I remove the sand substrate in favour of 3mm river gravel and am unsure where to attach the spray bar in the tank. I have a Hydor Koralia Nano 900 on the left hand side creating flow from left to right, so was wondering should I have them both directing current in the same direction? Or fit the spray bar on the rear or on the right hand side
Druid
at the end of the tank (smaller side) as you will get max water movent in a circular movement for fish waste to be captured by filter

antg
Would putting it the same end as the nano 900 create too much circulation?

samo
If you are really worried about flow, you can just remove the spray bar or if it has an end cap take that out. I've done that on my apisto tank so I still get good filtration but not too strong a flow in any one direction.
antg
Not really trying to breed anything, I just don't want to create a whirlpool in the tank and have the fish get blown around like leaves.

antg
Set the canister up today, thanks 028NVD for your help, and also to Redlands Pet Centre for a great deal on the filter and also the bags of purigen I bought today. The flow from the spray bar isn't as bad as I thought it would be even with the Nano 900 on. Very impressed with the Nautilius 600, deathly quiet and also has some good features, such as valves that shut off the flow from the intake and outlet pipes once the lock is released from the panel where the hoses clamp to, for the price I'm extremely happy.
