zane
Is this stuff filter safe? I got it from spotlight. It looks like dacron but I would just like to be sure before I put it in my sump. Thanks in advance
samo
Any idea what it's made of compared to what dacron is made of? Maybe a chlorine bath and then deckorinator rinse is in order. Not sure just thinking out loud
zane
it looks like the same stuff, but in sheets. A quick google search for dacron gave me pictures of the same stuff?
samo
Haha could be the same stuff. Only way to be sure is knowing what both are made of. Hopefully someone else has some more helpful advice for ya

ash
Yeah one of them is treated with an antibacterial chemical or something similar.
ash
Thought I'd seen it mentioned before, Quick look on spotlights website says it is treated with ultrafresh, an antibacterial agent.
steve6610
i've used it for 6/8 months with no ill affects, but now i use the aqua filter pads and wash them out and reuse them, saves me buying dacron all the time now,

Mackayman
Thats quilt matting right ? I went down the same road and checked out the spotlight stuff. To the best of my knowledge, its safe to use. However, I am led to believe the matting treated with fire retardent is Not ok. ( A lot of it is ) I'm no guru, jus researching an followin my instinct. In the end I just got confused an now I do like Steve an Jules an use the Aqua One pads and wash em out evry week or two in da washing machine. They last for 5 -6 washes so works out not to bad on the pocket. Cheers Brendan
