mickyd
Hi all I have another question for the pro's... I have 2 breeding pairs of veils one pair had eggs at the start of the week and had the other pair have there eggs a day or so ago. My question is my first pair there eggs took close to 3 days to hatch. While the other pair hatched in about 4 hours! Is this normal or what........ And i have one more quick question i have one pair that is a veil male and a long fin female what would the babies be ??? Cheers mickyd Edited August 3, 2012 by mickyd
Otto
Eggs normally hatch in approx 48 hrs. Then free swimming another 24-48 hrs. Some take longer than others. 4 hrs doesnt sound possible but who knows?? As for outcome, I am confused. Male is a VT which is a longfin, as is girl so you will get longfin fry. Unless they both carry the PK gene........... If you mean your girl is HM then you may get some Delta/Super Deltas.
fish_hobbyist
+1 for what otto said. eggs hatch quicker in warmer water (i think) but 4 hours isnt possible.. i have had eggs hatch in 12 hrs but no less than that..
mickyd
Im not not joking they hatched with in four hours! And are now the same size as the fry that hatched at the start of the week so not impossible just not common by the sounds of it....as for the vt and longfin i did not realise they were the same so thanks for the help.
