buddy02
feeding flowerhorns, what's best for growth and maximising colour?
angry
As with all fish- correct water conditions, enough tank space and a varied diet are the best way to go. I feed mine a combination of spectrum foods and protein pellets. For red color any food with alot of astaxanthin will help For yellows and greens spirolina can do good things..(possibly reducing your red though) If you want to breed stay away from "hormone" foods like white crane... h.t.h

Matmatmat
I go for a varied diet, stick to any one thing and you will have dramas.. I feed em heaps of different brands of pellets and things but the three things mine never are without is hikari bio gold ( helps with good gut bacteria IMO), frozen blood worm and peas so they poop. Other than lots of different pellets I give em all the bugs and worms and things I find:) I never give them feeders from the Lfs ,they can be diseased little buggers, also some fish won't want to go back on pellets afterwards and there isn't any real reason to take the risk.
