you need an analyisis done on the water , to find what minerals salts are in their , i have no town water , just bore and rain , my bore is high in iron , edta gets rid of it , well binds it up , carbon helps as well , but the best ive used to get rid of the iron was a mix of edta and chemipure , from the age of aquariums , i breed an array of fish , nothing worth much , but they breed on bore water just fine , it comes out of the bore at a ph of 5.8 but after being airated , it goes up to 8ph or a bit higher , so i just buffer it down , get the water test done at a pool shop , or water specialist cost me $40

Completely agree with this, test it and see what it actually has. Sometimes a mix of bore and tank can be a sweet mix, but really depends what is there to start of with......

Boar water can be ABSOLUTELY fantastic in one place and like poison in another.

Growing up as a kid me and my mates always had fish tanks. My friend up the road from me had BOAR water only on his property and i had Tank water. Back in those days we didn't have the range of african cichlids around today however there was a good range of American Cichlids. Also being in the country species was limited. Howerver to cut a long story short his fish always thrived on the boar water and were regularly breeding.

It is well worth an investment in getting your water examined as if you have the "GOOD STUFF" it can be like gold
