Clay Ball Substrate.

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of doing a planted section in my new sump.

So i was wondering if i could just use some clay balls for the substrate.

Also is there a special light that would be best to use over it.

The only plants i grow are the ones in my fish pond out side so don't know a great deal about ins and outs.

Cheers JP

Cant go wrong with native valisneria its pretty hardy and u can find it in most creeks. I just use a $6 fluro from bunnings with my plants and abit of fertiliser each week and good water flow.not too much oxxygen n they go fine! If you put the plants in pots and put them in your sump u will use a heck less fertiliser cause u can just take the pot out and stick it in a bucket covered with water overnite n fertalise in that
