abyss
I'm sure we are all guilty of some nasty thing we have done to our poor fish? Temp too high, lazy water changes and the dreaded flushing. Whats some of the worst things you've done?
__CAV__
swum my fishing lures through the big tank so i can see how they swim. other than that... i used to get a bit lazy sometimes with water changes, thats changed now, the missus does them while im away so they are done at least once a week and i do them on my week off.. Scuba Steve
my only mistake so far was doing a half water change and got lazy and filled with water straight from the tap during the middle of winter 3 fish were upside down in 10 minutes. somehow two of them survived but one got flushed. wont do that again. mq_camo
Forgot the hose was filling the tank, it over flowed and tripped the power out for a while, and on New Year's Eve with a few drinks under the belt to make it even better
gingerbeer
My first tank, 2 footer. Had 4 festivum, 2 blue acara, 4 gold severum, 4 or 6 barbs, and a pair of kribs, that bred and raised fry up to 2 cm size.....
Citypainter
Not me but my Mrs. One day I came home from work and she was chasing a Pike cichlid around the tank with a wooden spoon. When I questioned her she said it was a bully and deserved some of his own medicine. She is not allowed near the tanks now, Only to watch and feed them. webmaster
Forgot the hose was filling the tank, it over flowed and tripped the power out for a while, and on New Year's Eve with a few drinks under the belt to make it even better I can relate. I used to have a big tank in my old place sitting on a carpeted floor and I overflowed that sucker sooooooo many times! (at least every other month:mad:) We we're the carpet cleaner's best customers in those days My other half used to get SOOOOOO mad!! Now don't have to worry tho. Got good ol timber floors. Been here 5 yrs now & funnily enough, I don't think I've overflowed this one yet!... Damn Murphy!:p

dan486
had just finished building my 300ltr 4fter. Took it outside to give a good hose out. Went inside to answer phone - half hour later in middle of day came back outside to a lot of cracked and very hot glass.

Perhaps a 'time out' would have been a more appropriate method of discipline It works on my kids but not nearly as funny as what you came home to. :p:p
Victoria
Wondered why the siphon stopped on the gravel vac. Jiggled it around, trying to get it going. Finally pulled it out, and out fell a algae eater with its eyeball half pulled out. He's all back to normal now, but I was in tears at the time. kitmini
Cleaning out the internal filter and nearly washed the baby peps stuck in It down the drain. Scooped them up and threw them into a cup with tap water as that was all in the vicinity , put them into a fry saver and somehow they survived

ozmo
Iv'e had an overflow issue/incident which resulted in no harm to the fish but ... I was performing WCs on several tanks at once and basically going from my fish room to the dining room to the foyer. After several trips back and forth, I totally forgot about the foyer tank and it subsequently overflowed. Once I realised that I'd forgotten this I ran into the foyer (bamboo floored) which was by now flooded and extremely slippery. The next thing I'm waking up with water lapping around and into my left ear, a fractured left shoulder, torn ligaments and severe bruising. My kids still tease me about it
Pet_City
My first seahorse tank - 10 gallon standard, undergravel filter air filter, plastic plants and "salt" (who knows what it was) mixed with water and "water ager". It even had light blue gravel. Thought a few months was a standard lifespan! Oh the 80's...
Rooster94
Giving up on my growing electric yellow colony that are sitting in a tank with barely any rocks and half the water in the tank, because im in year 12 and TAFE and school are piled upon my to do list. If anyone is interested on helping me get rid of them that would be good, one full grown pair and the rest are growing up from 4 to 7cm, and 15 fry at 2cm. Also got a holplo breeding pair. Send me an offer to negotiate
