The Tech Den
26-27 and a ph of about 7. They are not all that fussy. They are the easiest of the catfish to start off with. Here are some breeding logs from our site to give you an idea of what they look like. Bristlenose Clay Breeding Cave Small

Yoshi
Hey Corey, I have not tried to breed L types yet but i think they are hard to breed. its more that they only have a small amount of eggs and it takes a few years to get from fry to adult. dan486
Corey, its relatively easy to breed BN's. I've found a trio(1m, 2f) works best. 1 breeding log and a nice bit of driftwood, i also feed cucumber & zuchinni, along with tech dens catfish & loach powder(its awesome) and the occasional algae wafer. Water temp should be around 24/25. As far as a tumbler, I've only used one when the male kicks the eggs out of the log - this can happen for a number of reasons. Hope that helps. The Tech Den
thanks tech den and would a smaller pleco like l397 be much harder to breed then a bristle nose????cheers Its not as hard as it is made out to be. Well, when you know how. Takes time and a bit of learning which is why it is really good to start off with the BN's as what you learn with them will carry on for when you get to the ones that are bit harder you have a good base. If I wanted to have L397's on Eggs in 4 days time it would be easy enough for me to do. Took a bit to get to that point with the learning side. As good as it is for someone to tell you what to do, it really is not helping you. Helping you, is getting you onto the right path and giving a little direction and the rest will come. Yoshi
$25 for a breeding pair of BN is a good price. I might have a spare female in albino but i have to wait a couple of months until he/she is a bit bigger to know for sure.
