Do African cichlids get more colour as they get bigger or do they stay the same because I have been told that they stay the same.

To put it simply - yes and no. "African Cichlids" is an incredibly broad definition. Some Cichlids keep their colour consistantly throughout there growth (such as electric yellows?), others gain more colour (such as electric blues?), and some lose it (kenyi's etc?). Colour can also be adversely affected by dominance - or lack thereof - and general health. Although those who know more may correct me if I'm wrong.

A good feed and water condotions is the most important thing I have found to bring the color out to its fullest and also genetics play a factor as well
