Daharkazangel
Just thinking at the moment (setting up a tang tank :)), but in theory could i put some large americans in with my Two large Oscars and goldpost plec? Tank is a 5x2x2 and the two oscars are 'quite' aggresive. They bite me often if there not full and my hand is in there and try to eat the pleco every now and then (whos a good 20cm). Could these fish calm with other more 'beefy' fish or is it just best to let them be? I dont mind either way, just wanted some opinions Filtration is a HUGE canister. Thanks
Fish Junkie
Always a hard one ! Oscars are pussies when it comes to most big yanks so really depends what you put in there Also remember its only a 5 foot And if you put a pair in there you could have extra aggro with breeding Good tank mates would be IMO Severums Snooks Chocolates and Pearsei FJ
goneself
Mm..not much room in there for a helluva lot else, best bet would beta fill the zones of the tank..with oscars being mostly mid zone swimmers, I'd go with a chocolate or a jd to take the bottom with the plec, and snooks, dollars or big tetras or barbs to zip around the top. Daharkazangel
Silver dollars sound cool wonder how big theyd have to be for my oscars to not try and eat them haha. And id have to try and introduce adult fish hey? Hmmm might just leave as is..do love my boys
Betta
Yeah you would have to put adult fish in & that is a very expensive way to stock your tank, they'd have to be a lot bigger than the Oscars mouths for them to not give it a go eating the new tankmates. I have seen silver sharks put in with Oscars because they are pretty quick.
Daharkazangel
What kinda barbs could go with oscars?????
goneself
tinfoils, red line torpedoes..anything too big to be eaten. Clown barbs will get to 10 cm easy if you're on a budget. Edited December 8, 2012 by goneself
