purplehelmet
I have a beautiful pair of Curviceps in my community tank, and have noticed that one of them has developed a bulging eye over the past day or so. Unfortunately he/she is not a happy camper, and is sheltering in some plants . I've googled this and have heard about a condition called Exopthalmia. Apparently these fish are susceptible to this condition? I haven't added any new fish or plants in ages, and apart from this, all other inhabitants are happy and healthy. Any help or suggestions about diagnosis or treatment would be appreciated. Thanx
Inkozana
I found this website to be helpful when dealing with pop-eye: Pop Eye It talks about the difference between the bulging of one eye and then of both.
purplehelmet
Thanks for the information Inkozana ....greatly appreciated. Have done a 50% exchange today and old mate is hanging in there. I'm considering treating the tank with promethasul tonight in a last ditch effort. Fingers crossed. Inkozana
Good luck, if you would like any further assistance from members they will probably want to know your parameters at the least (pH, gH, Ammonia, Nitrite & Nitrate) as they can impact the treatment of pop-eye.
