Help working out how much sand ill need :)

starting a marine tank..

how much sand/crushed coral ill need for a deep sand bed

in a 2ft x 2ft x2ft.... which will hold 227 litres water, if im correct :/

Also recommendations on what sort to use..

For a thick layer of coral sand I would used a 10kg bag per square foot, but that's a thick layer of about 1 1/2-2inch, usually I would use half that much normally

Is it for the sump or main tank ?? For a sump I would go about 4-5inchs ...if a main tank I would use 2 8kg bags

Ok, the base of your tank is 2ft x 2ft, so that's 4 square foot area, 40kg
