cameron Posted December 8, 2012 Report Share Posted December 8, 2012 i notice one of my tetras had some sort of swollen nose it looked like a tiny pimple on the tetras nose/face area that was about 3 days ago and i cleaned it yesterday and noticed now about 3-4 of them have little pimple things on there nose/face are any idea on what it could be? cameron Posted December 8, 2012 Author Report Share Posted December 8, 2012 they are a transparent looking thing with i whitish grey thing inside and i cant really get pics (tried) they are just to small and my camera isn that good and they only have one pimple thing. QldAquariumDesign Posted December 8, 2012 Report Share Posted December 8, 2012 Ich can look like a little whitish greyish thing and it will encase itself in a cyst but I'm not sure that's what you are dealing with. Regardless it sounds like an external parasite of some kind. I'm hesitant to suggest meds without knowing more about it, and I know it's difficult but you can try a prophylactic treatment of Cupramine. (no higher than 0.25 mg/l for 14 days. This should kill any external parasites anyway and if it is ich it should cover the whole life cycle. But you will need a copper test kit. There are others like malachite green that will do much the same thing but I'll let the other members weigh in their opinions first... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
