DavidTullee
I'm in same boat, holidays not started yet so would be keen to know how you go and if you do another trip over Christine break post another invite. I always wanted to explore upper Coochin. I'm not sure where it will be happening but there are some major urban developments going ahead around them parts so some formal ANGFA trip reports would be worth doing before the area becomes another concrete drain, or urban lake full in tilapia. grubby
Dave, I did the Coochin at Beerwah under the bridge last month. I caught a bullrout, some Crimsons, heaps of Firetails, no ferals and no Rhads or blue eyes. The creek was in dam fine health. Also saw Turtles and Water dragons. DavidTullee
Dave, I did the Coochin at Beerwah under the bridge last month. Grubby, I think half the fun is the surrounds. I went 4WDing around the back of wild horse mountain and saw some nice looking swamp country that would be worth a paddle. Only problem is that grass with the rough edges that cuts you apart walking through it. Rainbowrunner, maybe Monday the 31st could be a target for a day out. rainbowrunner
Well that was fun, went to Mellum, Coochin and Obi Obi Creek today with Betta, caught some nice crimson spot rainbows, pacific blue-eyes , empire gudgeons, firetail gudgeons, shrimp,a yabby and a few mystery fish I thought were young bass at first glance, maybe pygmy perch, I have a pic but I think Betta has a better? one? Good thing was we caught absolutely no ferals. This ones good im still shaking my head, whats wrong with people? When we were at Obi Obi creek near Gardners falls, I had a trap down where some people were swimming, I went to check it and it had been taken out of the water, a lady comes swimming over, I smile say hello, and she starts saying theres not much water here at the moment so theres not many fish and I said (thinking I was getting some advice) thats ok we have found some . and she went off - why dont you leave the fn fish alone, are you local? I say from brisbane and it got worse, started telling me to leave your not even local, you dont belong here, I said im Australian and I can go where I want, not doing anything illegal, you have tampered with my fishing gear and that is a criminal offence. I should have just walked away. She got worse again and then I fired up. Thanks for calming me down Betta. I felt better after that, lol
