63off
Hi. I don't have very much experience with goldfish at all so I'd appreciate some comments on what this behavior might mean and if it's normal. I have a tiny tank with 3 small shubunkins in it waiting for me to pull my finger out and get some kind of pond going for them. I came home from work and fed them as usual but about an hour later I noticed one of them getting under the other 2 (not at the same time of course) and nudging them upwards. The other fish didn't seem too impressed by it but also didn't swim away. I haven't seen them doing this before and I can't remember ever seeing any of my father's comets or shubunkins acting like this either, though I'll admit that was 40-ish years ago and I wouldn't have taken as much notice then as I do now. Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks
goldenswimmers
if they are little and not sexually mature..then you might have yourself a goldfish bully yep it happens...especially at feeding times...you can sometimes get the odd goldy who likes to "run things" when its feeding time and when they are just bored...they chase fish around harassing them...similar to the sexual chase but its not the sexual chase .....that would be my guesstamation....what I find works....is seperating them for a period of time usually a couple of days...and then putting them back together...usually works..similar to rearranging scenery for territorial cichlids....
