rosequoll
Had a dump and run at work last week and have ended up with a fiesty, evil ugly Synspilum stuck in one of our Quarantine tanks. She is FREE FREE FREE as I just want her to get a good home. She is skinny, has a bumpy head, un-impressive colours and a bent/folded anal fin. Also mean as hell. Will destroy anything put in her tank, including gudgeons, goldfish, crayfish, pellets and her heater. (I'm being mean in this post, she's delightful and has earned herself the name Betty-Saurus Rex at work). You can see in the photo (especially in the reflection on the bottom of the tank) how thin she is (scooped belly) and the folded/damaged anal fin. Needs a good home guys. Been given a WEEK to find her a new home. Located in beenleigh, please PM or SMS me for location.

rosequoll
Will PM you the details now. She's actually quite a nice fish, VERY active and despite being dumped at work in 10cm of water in a bucket on a hot day she perked right up and smashes crayfish with gusto. Fish Junkie
IMO I still wouldn't breed her even after she's fully recovered This is what I call a perfect pair of Synspilum FJ

Betta-Cray_z
why would you want a free american when your selling all your americans in the trader so you can go to natives ? i don't see the sense in that, :confused:i hope this girl goes to a good home and not to somebody who will mistreat her, she already has had a bad life, Because simply, as much as i hate keeping americans. i love them. i get fed up every now and then and decide to empty ONE tank because of the dramas but i always go back to keeping americans again. i am still going natives, am i not allowed to have more than one tank running or? she is doing wonderful in her new home, her colours have come out already (i may be thinking male) and it looks to be a black belt, but im not fussed. its a wonderful fish that is getting a second lease on life and i am doing everything in my power to make sure the fish is absolutely comfortable and thriving whilst in my possession. as i have stated to rose i will be keeping up a progress thread being updated frequently so that you guys can see the progress that a little tender loving care gives to a fish in such a state. ciao. Betta-Cray_z
so guys, steves comment has now made sense to me... it is in the best intentions of the fish that i wish to pass this fish on to another person. i guess in a sense i have acted like a foster home for this fish. it has dawned on me what a large commitment this really is. The Tech Den
so guys, steves comment has now made sense to me...it is in the best intentions of the fish that i wish to pass this fish on to another person. i guess in a sense i have acted like a foster home for this fish. it has dawned on me what a large commitment this really is. I do not think that is the case - if you intend on looking at the fish's best interest than you need to nurse it to health. This poor fish has been moved from situation to situation and I know all the intentions are good but how about nursing it back to health for a couple of months and then passing it on - otherwise the poor fish is going to be stressed from moving it from one lot of water conditions to the next to the next to the next. Give it a couple of months to recoup and then pass it on...
