ozmo
I don't normally share my losses in public but this one is killing me and no one else is awake in the house yet so I'll blubber it out online I woke this morning to find my big old female festae on the bottom of her tank. I immediately reached in and grabbed her. She struggled out of my hand and that was it. That was her last kick at life. Her eyes began to cloud over immediately. I'm pretty sure it was just old age. Here she is recently... And 20 mins ago I recently traded two smaller females for a large male who now is all by himself. So like FJ, I'm now on the hunt for a large female festae again. Thanks for your time. I'm off to do a water change now Edited December 22, 2012 by ozmo

ozmo
Thanks everyone. On a positive note I now have more room for another special & rare breeding pair who have been waiting for an opportunity to move into a larger tank. leah
Aww I'm sorry you lost such a beauty BUT on the other side of the coin, how awesome is it to have such beauties until they pass naturally from old age. Its a credit to yourself for maintaining her for all that time. Take comfort in knowing she was well looked after and loved Good luck with your next special and rare breeding pair... ozmo
I'm sure all the yank breeders are in mourning for your lose Ozmo FJ I know. It's a real blow to the Festae bloodline as she was such an awesome fish. I've never shed a tear over a fish but I have to admit, I did water up a little over this one Edited December 23, 2012 by ozmo
