Matmatmat
I have an excess of ranchu fry from great parents.. They are about 5mm ATM, so I'm guessing just big enough to move if your carefull. Any aspiring Goldie's breeders keen to try raising and selecting fry? I think there will be a mix of "Chu-da" and ranchu fry.. If you've got the space and time send me a Pm .. They are FREE
lachie1998
would you be willing to send some down to NSW when they get bigger? Got any adult goldys for sale mat?
Matmatmat
I would Lachie , but I'm really lazy and the airport is a long way away from us southsiders.. I think it's a ploy to stop us Logan folk invading the rest of Aus? Maybe when they are bigger:) they wouldn't survive that long in transport at this size.. Don't have any big ones for sale ATM. aquaholic99
Most of the fancy goldfish we see in Australia are terrible quality. The main reason is breeders dont cull to improve quality or don't know how to cull. Just because a fish looks good, doesn't mean it will produce quality fry. The higher the quality, the more culling is required. Another reason is most fish keepers aren't picky enough so poor quality becomes the norm. Just my opinion. goldenswimmers
Nice stuff Mat...reckon learning how to cull and care for ranchu is a hobby in itself its the top of the pops in quality selection if you ask me and this would be a great way to learn about selecting correct fry and seeing how they turn out... issh
Since we are on the topic of goldy frys; is it common for a big size difference; As in; my biggest is now about 6-7cm and my smallest about 2-3cm; even though they are in separate tanks now? And saying most is an understatement... Unless your going overseas and actually picking the fish, your pretty much buying culls

unheatedtank
Hi Mat, sorry as I missed the post as I were looking at my betta fry running up and down at that time, it made me puzzled May I have 2 or 4 ranchu fry if you still have them please? I just got a big drum from a gentlement here and the native fish survives there. Please PM me your number to call. Thanks in advance, Ja Edited December 25, 2012 by unheatedtank

Unless your going overseas and actually picking the fish, your pretty much buying culls Maybe I am wrong, but I think most of us, part time hobbyists, just want the pet and enjoy the time with them or for the kids like me. We just love the time playing with the fishes, and as long as we like their look and behaviours, that's all matter.

unheatedtank
Yes, you are right, Steve. I just edited the post, I am getting some dragon siamese fighting fishes now, will give back if I can ever walk through this crazy breeding time. Not sure how many survive in my first breed though.
