grubby
Hey anyone know if it is logistically possible to run two 2ft tanks on the one cannister, ie two intakes two outlets ?
DeadFishFloating
Its easy to do if the tanks are setup to cascade into each other, done it plenty of times myself. google fails me in finding normal cascading tank pictures lol Edited January 16, 2013 by DeadFishFloating
JayPee
I have run a 2 teir setup of 1 canister before. Worked well. Water in top tank then out via 2 25mm bulkheads into bottom tank then out into canister. Don't know about 2 inlets and 2 outlets. Would go with the drilled tank setup if you have to do it. Mitch86
Simply you will never get even flow/return into both tanks so you need a equalizer line between both tanks otherwise one will empty the other until the pickup sucks air. If the tanks aren't drilled it would be easier to pick up a cheap canister.

Thats kinda what I figured, but there are so many skilled folks on this site I thought if anyone had done it, someone here might have. Thanks for the suggestions one and all. I really need to get my fish room up and running.

matt_a
Are the tanks on a two tier rack, or side by side at a level height? If they are side by side it should be very easy to do, or if they are one above the other, like others have said set up a cascade system.

Side by side for the moment, apparently there are mini canisters now, dunno who makes them.
matt_a
What you need to do is have the canister drawing from one tank, and flowing back into the other, then connect the two tanks with a syphon bridge. I've done it before just for a weekend using a 2 inch silicone hose as the bridge. Got me out of a pickle until I could get some PVC cement to do something more permanent.
