wetnoses
WHAT ARE THEY???? We got these from someone who wasn't 100% sure what they were, thinking maybe Lwanda?? Do you have any idea, or just a mixed lot? The males are nice looking and they breed reallllly well so would be nice to know what they are! Cheers
DFishkeeper
Definately not Lwanda! Most probably "assorted mixed peacocks".
Rooster94
My opinion is the first pic is a blue peacock and the third is a red peacock. The other fish in the 2nd pic...well I dOnt have a clue
wetnoses
Great, assorted peacocks lol... They are all from the same "batch" supposedly so must just be mixed. Thanks guys
Braddo
Hmm sorry if I sound rude but it would be great to see some that are what they are supposed to be. A diary comes in handy to write their names in as you buy them. Now back to your fish you can see alot of uneven spacing between the bars shows there could be a few variations in these fish. Clint87
I agree with Braddo the diary is a great idea I've started keeping on recently and I wish I had of from the start because I'm terrible with fish names the only problem is you still have to rely on the person/shop you buy the fish from to give you the right name for the right fish to begin with. mbunamad
It also helps to write on the tanks what the fish are. Just use a marking/textor pen. This can be an excellent reference if you have different fry or juvies in the tank. You can write dates or other info as well.
wetnoses
Yeah, they said they were Lwanda and I know who I got them from as well. Have had some problems with this person before. Not buying from them again. Fool me once and never again!!
Braddo
Yeah true it does rely on the people you ge tthem from and then who they get them from, unfortunately it only takes 1 scumbag in the mix to ruin it for everyone else.
matt_a
My opinion is the first pic is a blue peacock and the third is a red peacock. The other fish in the 2nd pic...well I dOnt have a clue Unfortunately both of those names are typically used to describe various mixed peacocks these days. I wonder if there will be much demand for pure strains when they become readily available? I got so frustrated with the mislabeled crap floating around that I have invested thousands importing stock, and I know several others who have done the same. I predict over the next twelve months that quality specimens will become more readily available.
