Jester
But on a more serious note... Anything that's alive will feel pain, yet they figure this out now?
Azedenkae
Well anything with a nervous system capable of 'understanding' pain anyways. Which is most animals.
DeadFishFloating
Well anything with a nervous system capable of 'understanding' pain anyways. Which is most animals. Its actually quite complicated, and indeed a subject many very smart people have devoted their lives too.
Azedenkae
Its actually quite complicated, and indeed a subject many very smart people have devoted their lives too. Well yes, but more so with how specific animals actually react to specific types of pain, as opposed to that pain can be felt by what animals. Because iirc even the most 'basic' animals have the ability to react to stimuli that causes 'pain', i.e. they can feel it. But yes, the reactions themselves are so much more intriguing. Mitch86
When I was a kid I saw a live mud crab dropped in a boiling pot of water and I can say that he most deffinetly felt pain. It was disturbing to see it thrashing around, obviously cause I can still recall it 20 years later. ( Personally I prefer them cleaned and cracked thrown in in pieces with a bit of white wine and garlic.)
Inkozana
Hmm.. that is pretty interesting. PETA always seems to say something to make me laugh though, which kind of takes the seriousness away from the issue.

grubby
I always put them on the slow boil, start em in cold water and bring them up, they are out of it well before they are even anywhere near boiling.
