Chaos
i was down at my local hardware store today where i seen this growing in a bird bath and asked about it. the store man just gave me some. Was wondering if anyone new what it was so i could research it and see if it is suitable for my aquarium or if it should just go into the pond. it came out feeling a bit like carpet. has small "balls" on it that might be a seed or a leaf. it's a lighter green then most plants I've seen. It possibly could be bleached from sun although the bird bath was under shade cloth. Thanks for any help
Matmatmat
Looks like a hair algae to me, does it kind of feel like cobwebs under water?

Sacrilicious
I thought it looks like hair algae too - can you get a closer picture of the strand with the "balls" on it?
khemo
It's utricularia gibba. Don't put it in your aquarium. Grows like a weed and hard to get rid of once established - pain in the ass. I would chuck it on the compost.
