BigRock
just sharing the love with those who might be interested coz the hobby needs more l046 I knew a bloke back in melb who bred zebra plecs constantly and the majority of his breeders prefered to spawn in those plastic easter-island head statues, the full ones with the head and torso and the l046 loved to spawn at the end in the head section of those, mine chose to hang out in them instead of caves(didnt get a spawn only had an adult trio for a few months) I know they'll use normal caves but as mentioned this bloke had heaps of l046 and when given the option of both caves and statues most of his chose the statues instead of the caves to spawn in

tanya70
I was recently told by one victorian breeder that his bred in an open ended piece of pvc pipe! Ohh dear the secret society wont be pleased now.
BigRock
this is already known by alot of ppl im afraid fellas, known by more freshies and dreamers than actual keepers of l046, this was almost 15years ago, I was well in the loop with most of these breeders and i can assure you that alot of greenhorns who werent were told about the statues so its no secret, the bloke who started the whole thing and bred all those l046 actually got into selling these statues to everyone and openly used the proof that l046 use them to spawn in as a sales pitch lol so that explains itself in regards to how many ppl know, the cats been out of this bag for almost 15years and l046 still arent cheaper or more available, its not as easy as that theres a trick to those little beauties it seems and just because ppl know of a good spawning cave doesnt mean their gonna run out and spend the coin on l046 to try it out, always been too many tightar*es around for that, so this is for the hobbiests who keep these fish and might be in the dark on it for some reason and they shouldnt be, their the ones who are trying to keep these fish alive in OZ while all the dreamers are sitting around being tight and waiting for a big price drop :/ well hows that ever gonna work? anyway l046 will probably never be cheaper than $500ech regardless of the amount around coz its not just the rarity of them that commands the price its more so the unique pattern/colour that does, but its funny how the tightar*es have been waiting decades for this fishes price to drop to a few hundred, they can keep dreaming coz if people want a pleco of such calibre their just gonna have to learn that you gotta pay for it. Its the tightar*es who are wrecking this hobby and making alot of breeders throw in the towel coz breeders are getting sick of putting in the time and effort to produce fish only to be lowballed for em like some tijuana wh0re ,....Disagree as much as you like but everyone knows that people just arent spending on fish like they used to.
