Dexter
How hard it it to do? Can it be done on a half emptied tank with fish in it?
raycam01_au
sure can, just put tape on the inside n go slow, easy as. Tape stops all the shards n bits dropping in, done it a million times
Dexter
The idea still scares the Poop out of me. The idea of 600-800L on water on the floor is scary. The 100L of water when the power goes out and the Sump overflows is bad enough. :s. I think I might just look into paying someone. At least then I Know/Hope they know what they are doing. Didn't one of the sponsers drill holes? I can't find which one.
anthonyandlissa
So long as you don't force it and just let the drill do the work it's not bad. Ideally the tank would be empty but definitely possible to do with water as well. Gotta make sure it doesn't get hot as well. Keep a spray bottle of water handy
JayPee
I drilled the support brace of my 6x2x2 twice while the tank was full and had fish in it. I drilled my sump while it was still all running. Just put tape on the inside. So it is possible but if it goes bad then it will be yet floor everywhere.
