unheatedtank
As you see my name, i am not familiar with heater at all,lol... But as I love oscar and americans, i want to get hem warm and happy. Will get a heater for my americans tank today, just want to ask your advises if the heater guard is required. If it is, any suggestion as the last thing i want is to kill them all when the heater breaks or the guard burn... Thanks very much, ppl in this forum is awesome and very experience which helps me learn quickly instead of trial and error by killing my very attached fish... cheers
noddy
ive kept an oscar in the past without one but would reccommend getting a heater guard from the lfs as when they move everything around, when not if, they may damage the heater. At this time of year you can probably have it turned off but as we approach winter you will need one. They will handle a cooler water temp but this only brings on sickness and disease.
