Regy227
Hey i am setting up a marine nano reef and need to do lighting for it however i cannot find anything that will fit the top of the tank. The top of the tank that is going to hold the fish is 40cm by 30cm so it cannot fit T8's i was wanting to keep basic corals. I have been looking at trying to use a aqua one compact light but i cannot buy the electrical fittings. I look into metal halides but a 70watt one would be to much. If anyone can think of a solution or knows what i could use it would help a lot.

EddieSalita
Something like this perhaps: http://www.aquariumproducts.com.au/cata ... 0&catID=86 if you need it to fit inside an existing hood, you may need to cannibalize it.
Nick0
I have been looking into using compact fluro lamps in my setup but I am not sure if they would be suitable for marine (spectrum wise). What about some dichroic downlights? They cheap as and you could jus put a false bade in the hood to mount em to. Once again you would have to make sure the lamps are the appropriate colour/spectrum/whatever. HTH, Nicko.
Regy227
decided that because i am going with low level light corals and a bubble tip anemone that i will settle with 2 x 1ft T8 lights. They are 9 watt each and would be one sunlight and one blue light. Does anyone see any problem with this lighting. The tank is only 40cm deep.
