Bristlenose_boy93
Do you mean Cycle? If so it takes more than 1 day and even 1 week if you havent added anything else to it like filter juice other fish tank water, cycling usually takes 4-6 weeks. Or you can get some Goldies and they will help cycle it faster for you. Etienne
HereFishieFishie
What size is tank? What filters do you have for it? What fish are youlooking to stock the tank with? As above the cycle takes weeks. But you can start with a couple of hardy species, that is why I asked what you are looking at? There could be a couple of hardy species amongst that. I would advise against using Goldfish, parasite ridden things. http://faq.thekrib.com/begin-cycling.html Frenchy :sheep:

HereFishieFishie
There will be stuff all bacteria in the water, not much more in the filter. Easy as but, just keep an eye on the water quality, feed the fish lightly every 2nd day for a while. If you don't have anything in the tank, bacteria wil die off anyway. Oh, I am sure that there will be some that will say Texas aren't classed as hardy either. Frenchy :sheep:
hoppa1979
if you want to no if your tank is cycled you can test the water for ammonia, nitrates and nitrates when they are zero (nitrates) can be up to 40ppm it should be ok if you dont have a test kit you can take a sample down to most aquariums and they will test it for you thanks matt
